Dellenbecher-savimuki, 2,5 dl
Despite its large volume, this drinking cup fits well in the hand because of the dent (Dellenbecher = dented cup). Although not exactly based on historical examples, it was hand-thrown at the potter's wheel in the same way as it was done in former times. It is made from ochre clay which was fired at 1200°C and is thus extremely sturdy.
It was glazed for sanitary reasons. The bottle-green glaze was considered particularly stylish in the 16th century. The glaze is not only food safe but also free from lead compounds and toxic substitutes. The cup is dishwasher safe.
