This beautiful needle case was made after a finding fron Jelling and it is dated to the 10th century. Needle cases have not only been found in scandinavian area but also in baltic areas.
Put some wool into the case, so needles find the hold they need and are accessible at any time. Cases like these are likely to be worn on chains fixed on the shell fibulas.
