This is a beautiful reconstruction of a typical Early Medieval short sax knife.
These knives were very popular with the Germanic tribes.
They didn’t only use the knives as a weapon, but also, or even more,
as a cutting, beating or carving tool.

The guard consists of two steel discs to fasten the decorated horn plate
with two rivets. The hilt is also made of steel and the pommel is made of leather.
The blade is not sharpened.

The knife will be delivered together with the shown leather sheath.
